Tasting Notes: This Sangiovese serves up a round and supple feel in the mouth, with intense flavors of cherries and wild berries. Tannins are medium-smooth and this balanced wine offers good aging potential.
Tasting Notes: Ruby red in color, this rich red opens with fragrances of black pepper and fruit. Toasty notes, with chocolate and vanilla join in on the palate, making this a smooth Italian blend to savor again and again.
The Baracchi estate near Cortona supplied both the Syrah and the Cabernet Sauvignon for this Tuscan blend. The blocks are on south-facing hills for maximum sunshine. The vineyard is hand-tended year-round so that each vine bears just a few small clusters of very flavorful grapes. All of the fruit for this 100% Sangiovese also came from the Baracchi estate. The vineyard is divided into three distinct blocks: San Martino, surrounding the winery; Gabbiano between Cortona and Montepulciano with chalk and clay soils; and Montanare, on rolling Cortonese hills. Elevations climb to 1,148 feet.
