The wine's aromas are clearly dominated by bright red fruit tones of Bing cherry and red raspberry, while black fruits dominate on the palate. The bright aromas expand and give way to candied orange peel and pepperming spice notes. Tannins are beautifully proportioned and provide backbone to the wine's sweet middle and delicate, earthy finish.

91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (Oct.12): "...this wine boasts stylish red cherry fruit aromas tied to somewhat toasty oak and hints of raspberry jam. Supple and somewhat more rounded with ripe, well-concentrated flavors..."

90 points , Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (May 2012): “...Bright ruby-red. Sexy, smoke-accented aromas of black raspberry, cherry and potpourri, with  notes of star anise and sassafras adding complexity..."

Very Good, PinotFile (July 22, 2012): “Aromas of red berries and berries. Bigger and riper than the Sonoma Coast bottling with moderately full flavors of cherries and cola, finishing with admirable length.”
