Springboard has complex aromas of earthy blackberry, violet and cherry, with a hint of herb in the background. It’s supple on the palate, with chocolate and berry flavors, and integrated tannin. 34% Merlot, 31% Petit Verdot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc.

91 points, Connoisseurs' Series (3/10): “Very much styled after fine claret and steering well away from unrestrained ripeness and brawn, this polished, beautifully balanced wine seamlessly marries elements of vanilla, cherries, currants and woodsy spice first in its deep aromas and again in its constant, carefully proportioned flavors. It finishes with a bare touch of trim tannin, but it is structured for keeping and will improve for a few years.”

90 points, Wine Enthusiast (December 2010): “…this is a vineyard barrel selection…Seductive and smooth…”

19+ points (out of 20), Rand Sealey’s Review of Washington Wines (July 2010): “…a head turner…flavors are deliciously thick and velvety…licorice, dark chocolate, mocha, scorched earth, vanilla bean and crème brûlée…”

4+ stars (out of 5), Restaurant Wine (November 2010): “Fine quality blend: intensely flavored, full-bodied and fairly powerful in style…”
