Dark cherry aromas that open into layered earthy complexities, with inky, cured meat notes. Flavors of cherry and spice lead to silky tannins and a lingering finish with earthy undertones.

Syrah (87%), Mourvedre (5%); Sangiovese (4.5%), Counoise (2.5%); and Grenache (1%).

91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (3/10): “This is not a wine for fans of unstinting ripeness or for those who hold that Syrah must come with a swagger, but its distinctive and very carefully composed mix of minerals, dark berries and milk chocolate will turn a few heads all the same. It is wonderfully supple yet does not suffer from softness, and, even if approachable now, it is a wine whose exemplary balance and reined-in ripeness are fine harbingers for better to come.”

This finely balanced wine opens with aeration, and is a great match with food, especially grilled meats and Northwest salmon.  Enjoy now or hold up to six years.

This wine was recently featured in The California Wine Club's wine of the month club.
