Lush juicy fruit and the layers of interesting spice and earthy richness. Full of freshly-ground black pepper aromas and some nice cedary-spicy oak components, it has a rich creamy mouthfeel despite its firm tannic backbone.

91 points, (Connoisseurs' Guide, Jan. 07) “Intense and generously filled aromas of ripe blackberries, sweet smoke and crème brulee set the stage for this wine’s equally deep and well-stuffed flavors, and, while never a Zinfandel of restraint, it is one whose varietal credentials are never in doubt. Although its nominal tannins are a bit gruff at the moment, they are buffered by lots of ongoing fruit, and the wine is so substantial as to come with an easy and exciting prognosis for at least three or four years of guaranteed improvement and growth.”
