Churchill Cellars
In 1996, Ken and Susan Churchill traveled to the beautiful medieval hill-top Tuscan town of San Gimignano. As they toured the vineyards, they fell in love with the beauty and peacefulness and dreamed that someday they would move to the wine country, live among their own vines and produce their own world class wines. Three years later, they followed their dream and moved to Sonoma County's Russian River Valley.
The fabulous wines we featured:
2012 Bella Luna Vineyard Sonoma County Pinot Noir
- 90 points, Wine Enthusiast
- Just 300 cases made.
Tasting Notes: Fans of Bella Luna will recognize its distinctive Christmas spice aromas, rich flavors of cherry rhubarb pie filling followed by a long, lingering and elegant finish.
Winemaker's Notes
People with rich real estate out here plant grapes not to make money but because they want to be associated with top quality wine. Also, in the west county there isn’t a lot of flat ground, and what better thing to do than to plant a vineyard? I enjoy making wine from these small sites.
