This bold and fruity Pinot Noir offers fragrances of lavender and violets and flavors of berries and herbs. A touch of smoke and toast echoes high quality French oak. Savor its lingering finish.
88 points, Wine Enthusiast (Nov. 2012): “This is classic Edna Valley Pinot Noir: dry, light-bodied, with crisp acidity, modest alcohol and forward flavors of raspberry, cherry and cola…”
Food pairings: Pair it with beef tenderloin, veal, lamb, duck and game and with truffles and cheese.
Enjoy now or hold up to 5 years.

My daughter brought home her boyfriend of 10 years. Thinking this would be the time when he asked her father for her hand. I cracked opened 2 bottles of this lucians wine. To celebrate this auspicious occasion. I'd like to toast... My daughter said "it was not a special occasion." It is also a great conciliatory wine as well. Love it!! -20 Points

I\'m not that experienced with wines, but I do know of some valleys other than Napa, like Alexander and especially Anderson. I\'d ask, who\'s ever heard of Edna Valley, but I\'m sure that oeniphiles more knowledgable than I would take me to school. I confess I've never heard of Edna Valley. Nonetheless, the Claiborne and Churchill Vintners 2009 Pinot Noir is wonderful. We had it with some salmon burgers prepared by Whole Foods, but grilled at home. The burgers had New Mexico Hatch green chile and corn mixed in. The wine pairing, although more or less done without much thought, was excellent. Not knowing about Edna Valley, this wine was a real sleeper for us. It would be case-worthy at a higher price.
