D-cubed Cellars 2010 Black Sears Zinfandel jumps out of the glass with blackberries and pepper. These are compounded with aromas of plums, sage and a hint of oak. This full bodied wine has flavors of berries, plum, white pepper with hints of herbs and toasty oak. The richness and intensity lingers on the tongue through the long smooth berry finish.
- 92 points, Conoisseurs' Guide (May 2014): "Most vintners who make it agree that Zinfandel had a few issues in 2010, but it would be hard to tell from this outstanding example, for the wine is deep in very clean and precise ripe-berry fruit and impresses as being exceptionally well-balanced. It is neither as big nor as unruly as Zins from its appellation can get, but it is constructed with an eye to the cellar and is guaranteed to improve for another five or six years at the least."
