91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (May .13): "Keenly defined, very vigorous young Zinfandel fruit takes charge from the first here and is met on its way by a lovely complement of sweet oak that makes a good thing even better. The wine is unmistakably full-bodied and slightly supple in feel with a very fine backbone of integral tannin, and, if perhaps still a bit rough at the edges, it is exceptionally well-balanced for its style and has all the pieces in place to age quite nicely."
