Ascent is an extremely complex, layered, structured, and tightly wound blend of our best Syrah sites in a particular year. It is a state-of-the-art Syrah and world class. We have put it up against all the most expensive Syrahs of the world from Côte Rôtie, Hermitage, and Australia, and it always shows equally well with its peers.

94 points, Wine Enthusiast-web edition, (March 5, 2012): “A superstructured, incredibly textured Syrah from the Sierra Foothills, this is Bill Easton’s best-ofthe-best lots…will continue to develop its earthy, dusty, bacon fat and cigar box qualities over time.”

91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (7/11): "...with extract to spare, strikingly deep fruit and an uncanny sense of sophistication that earns it an accustomed place at the head of the class in most every vintage."

90 points, Wine Spectator (May 31, 2011): “Ripe and savory, with fleshy dried berry, blackberry, roasted herb, sage and mineral notes...”

90 points, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (May/June 2011): “Bright redruby. Dark raspberry, smoked meat, pepper and earth on the nose. Lush on entry, then quite ripe in the middle...”

Just 200 cases made.
