Dark purple/black color. Aromatic kaleidoscope: floral, macerated cherry, black raspberry then dusty cocoa, fresh herbs, citrus zest, smoked meat, a whiff of pepper. Chewy, mouthfilling palate but never heavy or cumbersome. Cassis, blackberry, white pepper, anise, tobacco and dark chocolate. Rich, full tannins bring focus and definition. Great purity and dimension - packed with flavor. Coats the palate then a gripping savory finish.

95 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (Nov.11): “Generous and intensely spicy in tone with solid blackberry, gamy and black pepper credentials to its aromas, this full-bodied, tightly constructed wine comes with both depth and structure to spare."

93 points, Jeb Dunnuck’s The Rhone Report (Dec. 2011): “…copious amounts of pure, crunchy black fruits…loads of poise and class…”

90 points, Wine Spectator (March 31, 2012): “…concentrated mix of dried berry, pomegranate, black licorice and cedar flavors…”

Drink now or hold 2-3 years.
