Lavishly layered and complex, exudes sensations including spice, butter, ripe apples, pear and vanilla flavors. It also showcases a bouquet of caramel and grapefruit with soft mineral characteristics. Flanked by seductive toasty oak and refreshing acidity with hints of mango are front and center in this Burgundian style wine.
91 points, The Connoisseurs' Guide (Oct. 2007): “As much as we fancy Falcor’s Bacigalupi bottling, there is easily as much to like here. (Editor's note: Falcor’s Bacigalupi bottling received 2 stars and 91 points in the same Guide issue and was also a recent CWC selection.) Simply brimming with very deep, genuinely juicy, apple-like fruit and showing layer upon layer of vanilla and cream and sweet toast, the wine is at once very full in body and uncommonly well-balanced with a long and insistent finish. It is, in short, a complete and opulent Chardonnay with richness to spare, and it is just the ticket when the menu requires a wine of substance and size.”
