90 Points Wine Enthusiast "Sophisticated Roses for Summer Sipping" (July 2007) ~ A glassful of rose petals and a mouthful of raspberries is some of what you'll experience with this crowd-pleasing Rose. Catch the notes of pineapple and melon!
The wine was made with the saignee method. That means "to bleed" in French. When the fruit is brought to the sorting table and destemmer, some of the grapes open up. That is the juice that makes the Rose. With little skin and seed contact, the juice extracts some color but not many tannins. That explains why Rose wines are light, crisp and fruity.
In last year's issue of Uncorked, we featured winery co-founder and Olympic skating champion, Peggy Fleming. She described her successful fight against breast cancer. Peggy and her husband, Greg created their Victories Rose specifically to raise funds for breast cancer research. Enjoy this recent selection from our wine of the month club and help raise funds for breast cancer research.
