Heitz Wine Cellars
In 1961, Joe and Alice Heitz purchased their first vineyard, 8 acres just south of St. Helena. Working out of the small winery attached to the parcel, they put in round-the-clock sweat equity to build their business. Heitz Wine Cellars rapidly established a reputation as home base for one of the Napa Valley's most innovative and brilliant winemakers, and the unassuming winery soon became a prestigious destination for wine connoisseurs. Second-generation owners, siblings Kathleen Heitz Myers and David Heitz, have both been instrumental in building the family business since the 1970s.
The fabulous wines we featured:

- 95 points, Wine Advocate, Robert M. Parker, Jr.
- 93 points, Wine Spectator
Tasting Notes: 2001 Martha.s Vineyard Cabernet is a powerful, complex wine that continues to develop beautifully over time. It has rich varietal flavor and an elegant structure with firm tannins that are very well integrated. The finish is exceptionally long and graceful.
2004 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
- Gold Medal, 94 points, Beverage Dynamics
- 91 points, The Wine Advocate
Tasting Notes: This lovely Cabernet starts off with a gorgeous nose of dark fruit, followed by very jammy flavors and hints of currants and raisins. It.s silky on the palate with a longer than average finish.
