This big, bold mountain Cab fills your glass with fragrances of sweet oak, cassis and nutmeg. Red cherries dance a duet with ripe plums on the palate. Cedar, tobacco and soft oak tannins take a bow as well. This is a full wine on the palate, and its lovely finish reminds you that another glass is easily poured.

90 points, Ken’s Wine Guide: “…balanced, fruit forward, and smooth. The flavor profile is a rich blackberry with notes of coffee and dark chocolate.”

NorCal Wine: “…black currant, currant leaf, spice and a touch of dry stem. The Ispiri Cabernet Sauvignon is very good now but should gain both smoothness and greater complexity with three to five years in bottle.”

Enjoy it with an entire meal: gorgonzola cheese and grapes as appetizer; rib-eye steak with butternut squash casserole and side salad; and semi-sweet chocolate cake for dessert.

Just 470 cases made. Drink now or cellar up to 15 years.
