This is a very big wine with incredible darkness, power, and purity of fruit. The cool growing season led to a long hang-time, giving us ripe tannins and good acidity. It has gobs of cherry-berry-dry and black fruit flavors, spice and licorice aromas and a stick-to-your lips quality. Approachable as a young wine, it will also reward cellaring.

93 points, Wine Enthusiast (August 1, 2013): " Shows spectacular ripeness, with flavors ranging from ripe blackberries and currants to mocha, moo shu plum sauce, sautéed mushrooms and gingersnap cookies..."

91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (July 2013): "...quintessentially Petite Sirah in every aspect from its peppery, dark-loam aspects to its concentrated, tobacco-tinged blackberry fruit to its hard-charging back-palate tannins..."

91 points, Wine Spectator (Dec. 15, 2012): "Effusive and lively, with beautiful violet notes..."

90 points, International Wine Cellar (Nov./Oct. 2012): "...Lush and creamy but also surprisingly energetic, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and exotic star anise and floral pastille nuances..."
