The aromatics lead with an ample offering of cranberries and pomegranate. A velvety and rich mouthfeel supplies subtle hints of molasses and caramel to complement the essence of black cherry pie.

92 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (11/10):“Here is a rich, optimally ripened and deeply fruited Merlot that maintains terrific varietal focus despite being drenched in lavish oak. It is weighty, well-balanced and wonderfully supple in feel with ongoing themes of black cherries, vanilla and root-beerlike spice that last and last at the finish. Even though temperate when it comes to tannin, it has the proportion and structure of a wine that will grow, and it comes with recommendations for a few years of patience.”

Only 218 cases were produced.  The polished finish lingers with well formed tannins, perfect with hearty pork tenderloin.

This wine was recently featured in The California Wine Club's wine of the month club.
