An exciting array of fruit and spice notes with rosehips, pomegranate, and hibiscus complementing the more classic pie cherry and floral characters. Flavors shift slightly from the aromas with earthy, mineral notes layered into the fruit and spice, and a subtle orange rind component in the long, lingering finish.
94 points, The Connoisseurs' Guide (Feb. 2008): “Enticing smells of sweet cherries merge with those of milk chocolate, dried roses and caramel oak in the very deep and outgoing aromas here, and the wine’s extracted and fully fruity flavors live up to its aromatic promise. Smooth and plush on the palate as only the best Pinots can be, this crowd-pleasing effort holds nothing back even if young, and although certain to age for several years, it is immensely enjoyable now and invites early drinking.”
94 points, Wine & Spirits Magazine, (April 2008): “… the deep textural satisfaction of Great Russian River pinot noir … balanced, harmonious and lasting …”
93 points, Wine Enthusiast (March 2008): “…ripe blackberries and cherries … red and black currants …”
91 Points, Wine News (March/April/May 2008): “Lovely aromas of French toast, freshly crushed strawberry …Elegant and round …”
5 (out of 5) stars, Decanter Magazine (April 2008): “Concentrated, but balanced and suave.”
