Magnus is a historical name. Albertus Magnus was the mentor to and defender of St. Thomas Aquinas. More importantly, he was an early proponent of the "experimental method as a determiner of physical "truths"". Doug Meador has definitely used these methods in determining the best blend, optimum fruit and proper barrel aging of the Magnus wine.
