On the nose, this wine offers attractive medium intensity aromas including red berry, fresh plum, molasses cookies, and licorice. There is quite a complexity of flavors including cherry, dried cherry, red currant, cedar, honey and a hint of shortbread cookies. This Cabernet has developed beautifully and offers a medium plus weight, with modest tannins.
“Sometimes, with our very limited bottlings, we do not send the wine out to competitions or for review,” says Director of Marketing Stephen Corley. “This was the case for our ’96 Tietjen Cabernet Sauvignon.”
