This is not your typical fruit forward California Pinot Noir. It's reminiscent of a more Burgundian style of wine rarely found in California. Deep in color, the wine exhibits a deft balance with plenty of structure and complexity to age and evolve over the next 10 to 15 years. There are harmonious notes of black cherry, plum and earthy mocha that come singing through. The wine is full on the palate with ripe tannins and a longer lingering finish.

91 points, “Cellar Selection”, Wine Enthusiast (August 2012): …With further cellaring or decanting, it will find its Pinot soul.”
91 points, Connoisseurs' Series (June 2012): “... intriguing complexity, first in its buoyant aromas of red cherries, dusty spice and dried flowers..."
