Aromas of dried red fruits like cranberries and chocolate covered cherries. Earthy and gamey notes of black olives, cured meats, and roasted coffee add nuance and complexity. A perfume of violets add intrigue. On the palate, red fruits and plums are complemented by black olives, cocoa powder and game served on top of a foundation of ripe, robust, grippy tannins and lively acidity.

91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (7/12): “Fuller in body than a typical Rhône wine and getting its complex array from its cepage that splits the difference between northern and southern wines of that region, this deeply draughted, lively youngster combines notes of blackberries with hints of currants and strawberry jam all buoyed up by a layer of rich, somewhat smoky oak. Its supple entry and balanced feel on the palate runs into a touch of not unexpected latter palate heat but service with savory meats is all it needs.”
