Blackberry aromas with hints of earth lead to a rich mouthful of ripe berries, black cherry jam, and red currants. The finish is opulent.
Truchard Syrah has a fine pedigree of top honors. Their first Syrah was said by wine writer Ronn Wiegand to be “the best example of a Rhône wine from an American winery.” Past vintages have also earned the #1 spot in Wine Enthusiast magazine’s “Top 500 Wines.”
88 points, Wine Spectator (July 31, 2010): “Tightly wound, firm, compact and spicy; full-bodied offering mineral, dark berry and porcini mushroom.”
88 points, Wine Advocate (Dec. 2009): “I also like the black berry, tar, and camphor, as well as the meatiness of the soft-textured Syrah.”
88 points, Ken’s Wine Guide (Sept. 18, 2010): “...medium-bodied, slightly acidic, and savory. The flavor profile is black raspberry with notes of black pepper.”
Pepper steak, barbecue ribs and chicken chili soup are all great choices with this rich Syrah.
This wine is wonderful now, or age it for 10 to 15 years.

This was a very peppery wine with a little berry flavor. While I liked the Pinot better, I would drink this again, Good flavor and full body. -14 Points

Delicious, easy drinking red . Loved the spicy smoothness. It was gone before we knew it. -16 Points
