La Muse demonstrates the elegance and finesse of a Pomerol-style wine. The 2004 vintage is a very dark to opaque ruby in color. On the nose, there are polished, Bordeaux-like aromas of Bing cherry, dark plum, and a touch of blackberry, with notes of black pepper, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, graphite, sweet peas, and a dusty minerality. It is medium full-bodied on the palate, very focused and balanced with notes of dark plums, cassis, and cherry along with hints of leather, mineral, bright acidity, and a lovely, well-composed finish.
94 Points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (May/June 2007): "...plush, spicy and sweet, with a lovely light touch to the silky flavors..."
93 Points, Robert M. Parker's Wine Advocate (Dec. 2006): "...notions of mocha, sweet espresso roast, plum, anise and black cherries...full-bodied, fleshy personality...enjoyable as well as accessible..."
Just 759 made, hold up to 10 years.
