This wine has excellent fruit and acidity, a faint hint of oak, a bit of firmness, very nice balance.

93 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (Sept. 12): “Deep and impressively extracted with nicely proportioned oak playing support to its convincing dark-cherry fruit, this involving wine demonstrates just how good local Sangiovese can be..."

92 points, Wine Review Online (June 12, 2012): “...tart red cherry and wild red berries are vivid and fresh...the wine is dry, rather medium-bodied, and soft textured, with great depth of acidity along with fine-grained tannins that assert themselves in the rear palate..."

“Exceptional”, Dan Berger’s Vintage Experiences (Feb. 23, 2012): “Lighter color, with a dramatic aroma of tea, red currants, and a generosity despite classically balanced tannins, good acid, and a juiciness...”

Please note (when tasting) that this wine, like the Sangiovese, really opens up after 15 min or so in the glass -- definitely worth the wait.

A mere 75 cases of this wine was produced and sold out at the winery.
