92 Points, Wine Advocate, Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Dec. 26, 2006): “The 2005 Cahill Lane Chardonnay offers up hints of honeysuckle, pears, white peaches, currants, minerals, and toasty oak…”
92 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (Sept. 07) : “Long on very rich oak and redolent of vanilla, sweet toast and crème brulee in the nose, this full but very wellbalanced bottling has a fine sense of ripe apples at its heart and more than enough fruity flesh covering its structural bones. A wine of real complexity and commendable depth, it wants drinking with richly sauced shellfish or salmon and shows plenty of potential for improvement if allowed to sit quietly for another two or three years.”
90 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (May/June 2007): "Bright gold. Ripe, powerful pear, peach and nectarine aromas are given depth by suggestions of vanilla and mace. Gentle acidity lends shape and verve to the rich orchard fruit and melon flavors. The very persistent finish offers sexy notes of oak spice and candied orange peel."
This wine was recently featured in The California Wine Club's wine of the month club.
