92 points, Wine Enthusiast (November 2010): “A brilliant wine that shows the world how delicious young Napa Valley Cabernet can be…dazzles with richness…”
92 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (8/10): “Any who might doubt the reality of terroir need look no further than these vonStrasser lovelies...This particular bottling shows a slight boost in muscle with loads of extracted fruit and distinctive touches of walnuts, coffee and olives. If moderately tannic...It is so carefully balanced and free of coarseness that we could see it being enjoyed in just a few years, but it has a long life ahead of it and our bets are that it will improve for a decade of more.”
Very Good+ (92 points), Ken's Wine Guide (Dec. 28, 2010): "This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Cab opens with a fragrant cranberry and red currant bouquet with a hint of menthol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and well balanced between its acidity and fruit. The mouth feel is smooth. The flavor profile is an extracted and juicy black raspberry and licorice blend. There was also notes of milk chocolate and a touch of oak detected as well. The finish is dry and its moderate fine tannins are slightly prolonged. This Cab would pair very nicely with Veal Marsala. Enjoy" -Ken
Wine & Spirits, Joshua Greene (December 2010): “...the Estate is a classic with firm, dark fruit...”
