Baracchi Winery
More than 15 years ago, our Founders Bruce and Pam Boring discovered this artisan winery while dining at the Baracchi’s Michelin-starred family restaurant in Italy. They met Riccardo and Silvia Baracchi, and soon, all four were in the nearby winery cellar tasting Riccardo’s amazing wines. A wonderful friendship ensued and we’ve been delighted to share their highly rated gems with our members ever since.
Set amid the hills of Tuscany near the delightful village of Cortona, this picturesque wine estate has been producing Baracchi grapes since 1860. Riccardo Baracchi founded the winery in 1997, and with son Benedetto, replanted the property. It now showcases Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Trebbiano. Riccardo still personally oversees the vineyards, while Benedetto promotes Baracchi wines to the world.
Silvia, a gourmet chef, creates authentic Italian dishes at the family restaurant, which is part of their luxurious Il Falconiere resort. Their 17th century Tuscan villa is part of the elite Relais & Chateaux, which celebrates the art of hospitality.
Driven by the ancient family passion for wine, over the years Riccardo has helped pioneer high quality wines in Cortona by producing the first Cabernet Riserva and Syrah Riserva, along with other unique wines like the first sparkling wine made from Sangiovese. “Above all,” says Riccardo, “Baracchi is a family farm, where we work with passion and love.”
Dream a dream of Italy with your glass of Baracchi. Saluti!
