Colby Red Wines
Every glass of wine has a story to tell, but few can match Colby Wines’ transformative saga of trial and tribulation, family love and a young boy with a huge heart. 17-year-old Colby Groom, son of proprietors, Daryl and Lisa Groom, was born with a defective heart valve. Now a healthy young man, Colby makes wine with his dad and donates part of the proceeds to the American Heart Association so others can benefit from their support.
The fabulous wines we featured:
Colby Red 2012 Clarksburg Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Lovely and lush, with enticing aromas of cherry, spice and chocolate and rich, dark fruit flavors. A touch of Teroldego adds spice and complexity.
Colby Red 2014 Lodi Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes: Get relief from summer heat with this bright, fresh white wine. Fig, melon and citrus merge on the nose and palate. Mouthwatering with a crisp finish – and a call for more!
Winemaker's Notes
