This unique terroir produced a lavish beast of a wine with a lush, round palate and layers of brooding blackberry, dark plum, wild cherry, earth and Asian spice. Intriguing oak-inspired pencil shaving and oatmeal cookie notes add depth and the wine offers great finishing tannins and spice.”

94 points, Wine Enthusiast, “Cellar Selection” (August 2012): “The richness and quality of this Pinot Noir are instantly striking. It’s like a medieval tapestry, intricately woven and velvety, with interlocking flavors of berry, cherry, cola, mushroom, buttered toast and spice."

92 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (Feb.12): "“Another deep and fully extracted Pinot that manages to be ripe and very well-balanced at one and the same time, the Gowan Creek version is an extracted, fairly powerful take on the grape whose comparatively sturdy frame is filled in with ample fruit stuffing."

Just 1,000 cases made.
