Firriato Winery 2009 Etna Bianco

This Italian white is pale yellow in color, with a nose of summer flowers, ripe peaches and pears. Full in the mouth, its flavors mirror the nose and serve up a refreshing burst of pleasure. The final blend was 60% Carricante and 40% Catarratto. Both varieties are indigenous to Sicily. There were no awards or reviews available for this Italian white wine. It is lovely and fruity now, and would be best enjoyed within one to two years. Etna Bianco is a perfect match with seafood, pasta and fish stew, stuffed squid with mint (just like in Sicily) smoked cold cuts or vegetable pie. This wine was recently featured in The California Wine Club's wine of the month club.
