Frazier Family Estate Winery
Sometimes, wine lovers become unintentional wine pioneers, and former airline pilot Bill Frazier proves the point. In 1982, he purchased 15 acres in the Coombsville area of eastern Napa as a home site, and decided to plant both Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. There was little Cab in Coombsville, but Bill rolled the dice. With veteran winemaker Kirk Venge in the cellar and three of his five children helping out, Frazier Family Estate Winery was among the first successful Coombsville wine ventures. It was pioneers like Bill Frazier who paved the way for Coombsville’s official appellation designation in 2013.
The fabulous wines we featured:
2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
- 92 points, Wine Enthusiast
- Gold Medal, American Fine Wine Competition
- Pair with wild mushroom turnovers or flatbread, braised beef short ribs, grilled ribeye steaks & lamb chops.
Tasting Notes: More aeration will reveal a silky smooth mouthfeel and luscious dark fruit, with a long, rich finish.
