The 2008 Akiko’s Cuvée has its typical shy nose at first with a ripeness of the Russian River Valley in the aromas as they start to emerge from the glass. The palate has a delicacy and bright acidity.

94 points, Pinot Report (Jan. 15, 2011): “…Deep, complex Pinot that really shows some careful selection. Layers and layers of flavor.”

92 points, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (April 2010): “…Lush, juicy and gently sweet, offering potent red berry preserve and cola flavors…lingering floral notes.”

91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (Feb.11): “Here is a Pinot concerned less with power and more with polish and very pure fruit, and, while never wanting for ripeness, its enduring message is always one of grace and style. Its very keen themes of cherries are
sweetened with just the right touch of oak, and its integral, perfectly fit acidity lends a fine sense of lift to its longlasting
flavors."

A mere 420 cases were made. The winery recommends laying this wine down and open in 2012.

This wine was recently featured in The California Wine Club's wine of the month club.
