Aged: 10 Years

Intense aromas of blackberries, currants, cassis and fig rise up from the glass, marrying with notes of clove, incense, and smoke. The mouth feel is equally as generous, coating the palate with full but soft tannins, and flavors of ripe berries and black cherry. The sensation lingers on the palate, with a classic contribution of French oak and layers of spice and jammy fruit.

92 Points, Wine Spectator Weekly: "“Rich, supple and harmonious, with layers of blackberry, currant and dusty berry fruit shaded by light toasty oak and supported by firm, ripe, fine-grained tannins. Needs time for the cedary oak to works its way into the center, but should be
superb in a couple of years. Best from 2007 through 2012.”

92 Points, Connoisseurs' Guide: "...a deep and compelling effort whose currently, cherrish fruit aromas come complete with caramel-laden notes of creamy oak. Wonderfully supple..."

91 Points, International Wine Cellar: "Lusciously complex on the nose and the palate, this estate Napa Cab is bursting with aromas of blackberry, clove, incense and fig. On first sip, you notice how voluptuous and rich it is."

5 Stars (out of 5) Decanter Magazine - Hartwell was selected as one of Decanter's only three (out of 128 wines tasted) "5-Star California Cabernet".

First Place "Very Highly Recommended" California Grapevine: "...intense, spicy, cassis and very ripe black berry fruit aroma...full body, rich concentrated, plummy blackberry flavors..."
