Aged: 11 Years
It has opened up to be a gorgeous, supple wine. Beautiful throughout with an excellent core of fruit and good tannins.
93 points, Doug Wilder, PurelyDomestic WineReport.com (March 2011): “A gorgeous, supple wine. Beautiful throughout with an excellent core of fruit and good tannins.”
90 points, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (May/June 2006): “Good bright ruby-red. Black cherry, cassis, licorice and minerals on the nose, with hints of band-aid and mint. Patrick Campbell considers 2003 a cooler than average vintage and told me he did a lot of ‘editing’ to come up with this flagship bottling. This may well merit a higher score with bottle aging.”
