Aged: 15 Years

Blackberry and sweet cherries on the nose with hints of cassis and spice. Very balanced mouth feel, rich and smooth with bright edges of fruit. The flavors are still on the fresh fruit side. This wine is still young and hasn’t even come close to losing its fruit. Once the forward fruit starts to tail off, a nice creaminess of oak and spice come into play. Great mouth-watering finish.

The final blend was 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 5% Petite Verdot.

91-94 points, Wine Spectator (1999 California Cabernet Barrel Tasting Notes, June 27, 2000, web only): “Lean and beefy, an earthier style, with bacon, smoke and currant notes, gaining traction on the finish…”

At it's best about an hour after opening. If decanting, start to serve 30 to 40 minutes after decanted.

This wine was recently featured in The California Wine Club's wine of the month club.
