This wine has a wonderful nose of black cherry fruit, new leather, mocha/cocoa, spice and white pepper. A full-bodied yet elegant wine with excellent balance, great structure and firm but mature tannins. There are textured, complex layers of cherry and wild berry fruits with earth and minerals on the palate followed by a long, lingering finish.

96 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (July 2012): “Starting out with intense, highly concentrated aromas of spices and blackberries that are about as deeply filled as Syrah can get without going over the top..."

92 points, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (May 2012): “Sexy, intensely perfumed bouquet…intense blackcurrant and mulberry flavors…”

91 points, Jeb Dunnuck’s The Rhône Report (June 2012): “…should shine for upwards of a decade…”

90 points, Wine Enthusiast (August 2012): “A gorgeous, brooding Syrah … ”
