This is an intense and spicy vintage of one of Qupe's flagship Syrahs. The aromas offer up pepper, lavender and a gamey, smoked meat aspect. Long and luxurious in the mouth, with great structure and acidity.
91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide (3/10): “Its keen first focus on youthful fruit redolent of black cherries and dried plums and dollop of background richness reminiscent of a fresh baked pie crust place it squarely on track, and its firm, never hard, feel on the palate is balanced against its underlying fruit and oak to keep the wine lively and long."
